Our parish thrives because of the dedication of our volunteers. Whether you are called to assist at the altar, sing in the choir, or serve the poor in our neighborhood, there is a place for you to share your time and talents at Saint Monica-Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish.

Liturgical Ministries

Vietnamese Ministry Mục Vụ

Giáo sĩ và tu sĩ phục vụ các cộng đồng giáo xứ trong nhiều vai trò khác nhau, tạo ra những khuôn mẫu về chia xẻ trách nhiệm lãnh đạo và các hoạt động mục vụ đa văn hóa. trong cuộc sống: đời sống cộng đồng. các sinh hoạt phụng vụ, các lễ hội, cuộc sống môn đệ mỗi ngày, khai triển và đào luyện đời sống thiêng liêng, những khó khăn và niềm vui của dân Chúa, và nhất là, một sứ mệnh: được ra đi từ bàn tiệc Thánh và lời Chúa để hàn gắn mọi vết thương.

Altar Servers & Cross Bearers

  • Youth — 4th Grade and older to assist presider and other ministers during Mass.
  • Must be faithful cross bearers before becoming servers.
  • Training will be provided.

Lector & Ministry of the Word

  • Proclaim the Word of God at Mass.
  • Read the Scriptures — first and second readings.
  • Read the general intercessions.
  • Training will be provided.

Eucharistic Ministers

  • Youth (minimum 16 years) and adults. Must be confirmed.
  • Ministers of the Eucharist serve by distributing the Body of Christ at Mass.
  • Training will be provided.

Practice, Sundays at 9:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

Religious Education

Parish School of Religion (CCD)

Religion classes for students in grades K-8 in Catholic, private, or public schools. This is a blessed opportunity for your child to grow in his/her faith and prepare for the Sacraments.

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Are you considering becoming a Catholic? If you are already a Baptized, Confirmed Catholic, are you ready to explore your faith anew by sponsoring someone you know who is interested in becoming Catholic? Parish Councils

Pastoral Council

Members meet every first Tuesday at 7:00pm at St. Monica’s School Library or St. Thomas the Apostle Rectory’s Spiral Hall.
Relying on the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, the mission of the Pastoral Council of St. Monica-St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is to create and implement a plan that will assist the pastor and his staff in establishing a vibrant, flourishing, and unified Catholic community whose members reflect the love of Christ to the world around them.

Pastoral Finance Council

  • Finance Council provides guidance, advice, and support to the Pastor on fiscal matters.
  • Duties include advice on annual church budget, major and/or unusual expenditures, oversight of special Archdiocesan (AAA) collections, and capital improvement campaigns.
  • Publish an annual financial report to the parishioners.
  • Members meet monthly, August through June.
  • Council members are appointed by the Pastor. If interested, please contact our Pastor.

Outreach & Charity

Greeters & Ushers

  • Welcome parishioners and visitors to Mass.
  • Invite parishioners to bring up offertory gifts.
  • Invite parishioners to take up the collection.
  • Distribute bulletins after Mass.
  • Conduct annual parish census count in October.
  • Training will be provided.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Every fifth Sunday, a second collection for the needy is taken. Members meet every third Tuesday in Foudy Hall (beneath the church). Volunteers are needed to make sandwiches for 300.

Family Ministry

The Family Ministry Program serves families of all ages throughout the Outer Richmond of San Francisco. In collaboration with the Archdiocese of San Francisco, we are working to build up family communities at St. Monica-St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.
