Welcome to Saint Monica-Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish in the Outer Richmond District of San Francisco!
We are one Parish comprised of two church locations in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Our parish community is rich in history, steeped in local flavor, diverse in our backgrounds, and bonded by our shared Catholic faith. Besides Mass in the English language, we have a Vietnamese community which worships at St. Monica’s on Sunday. We also share St. Monica’s campus with Our Lady of Fatima Russian Byzantine Catholic Church (OLF). OLF brings the opulence of the Eastern Christian tradition to Divine Liturgy in their Sunday worship.
If you have any children you would like to receive the Sacrament of Baptism, please inquire with the parish office to make the arrangements. You may inquire about the Parish School of Religion which forms children in the faith as well as prepares them for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Our other two educational ministries are our parish St. Thomas the Apostle Preschool and Pre-K, located on the St. Thomas the Apostle campus. Our parochial St. Monica School (grades K-8) is located on St. Monica’s campus.
For adults who are interested in becoming Christian or want to learn more about the Catholic faith, we have a program to prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. We also prepare couples for marriage, even those couples civilly married and who desire to now celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony. Please reach out via the parish office or the clergy for more information.
We are most happy to have you join our rich faith-filled community and would like for you to consider how you might become involved in the life of the parish community. For example, our parish community has ministries of outreach such as serving the poor and visiting the homebound. Every person brings his or her own gifts and talents so the possibilities of serving are endless. We invite you to join the community for the Sunday Eucharist and I encourage you to join us for Mass, at either St. Thomas the Apostle or St. Monica’s. Please check the website for the Mass schedule. Please let us know if you are new or visiting and we look forward to meeting you. May God bless you.
